Live Harness Racing Will Continue without Spectators at Woodbine Mohawk Park - In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and in the interest of the safety of customers, employees, horsepeople and the larger community, Woodbine Entertainment announced today that it will be closing Woodbine Mohawk Park and Woodbine Racetrack to the general public for a minimum of two weeks.

March 14, 2020 - The organizers of the Kamloops Cowboy Festival regret to inform the public that due to the circumstances beyond their control, they have decided to cancel the March 19 - 22, 2020 Festival. If you have already purchased tickets you will be refunded on the credit card that you used to purchase them. There is no need to contact festival organizers. If you booked a room at the Coast Hotel in the Cowboy Festival block it will be cancelled automatically. If you booked a room somewhere else you should phone them directly to cancel. Last night the Governor of Oregon announced a ban on all gatherings over 250 people, effective immediately for a period of four weeks. This leaves us with no choice but to cancel the 2020 Northwest Horse Fair & Expo, scheduled for March 20 - 22, 2020, in Albany, Oregon. It is an unavoidable but heartbreaking turn of events for all of us involved.

Focus on Professionalism and Standards - On October 27, the University of Guelph held its third annual Equine Industry Symposium in which horse enthusiasts from all backgrounds in the industry set their sights on issues in our highly diverse $19 billion industry. The symposium was organized by Equine Management students in the Bachelor of Bio-Resource Management degree at the University of Guelph, and they chose professionalism and standards as the focus of a community-wide discussion for the day-long event.

Oct. 4, 2018 - Olympian Yann Candele conducted a two-day Competitive Edge riding clinic for New Brunswick’s show jumping team at Foshay South in Hampton, NB. The event was part of the Long Term Equestrian Development program sponsored by the New Brunswick Equestrian Association (NBEA) under the auspices of Equestrian Canada.
