In its inaugural year, the CQHA Canadian National Amateur Team Tournament (CNATT) was more successful than anyone could have imagined! Developed by the CQHA’s membership committee, CNATT was a program designed to target the Quarter Horse industry’s largest and most lucrative population, our Canadian American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) amateur members. The 2022 CNATT roster consisted of ten teams of ten AQHA amateur exhibitors from across the country.

The Canadian Quarter Horse Association (CQHA) Breeders Committee is made up of a group of diverse breeders representing every discipline within the Quarter Horse industry. The primary objective of the committee is to promote the quality Quarter Horses which are produced in Canada by the many talented and knowledgeable breeders.

The first few months of 2022 have been extremely busy for the Canadian Quarter Horse Association (CQHA), its members, and its board of directors. The American Quarter Horse Association’s (AQHA) annual convention was hosted in Las Vegas, NV in February, which resulted in five new Canadian AQHA directors being appointed for the provinces of British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, and Quebec. Work also began there to start promoting CQHA hosted, Canadian Quarter Horse breeding farm and ranch tours to international guests for summer 2022 and 2023, an endeavour to promote and export the quality genetics and Quarter Horses that Canada produces.

July 15, 2021 – Thirty-six horses flew into Japan last night – the first full cargo load of horses ever to land in Haneda, the waterfront airport that serves the greater Tokyo area and which is now welcoming a very different group of Olympic athletes.
