A New National Program to Support Canadian AQHA Sanctioned Shows and Amateur Exhibitors - The Canadian Quarter Horse Association (CQHA), the Canadian affiliate of the American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA), and representative of the largest breed population within the Canadian herd, is pleased to announce the launch of the Canadian National Amateur Team Tournament (CNATT). This program is the first of its kind and its purpose is to nurture Canada’s quarter horse show industry as we recover from the effects of the last two years.

A new Equine Body Condition Scoring app has been produced by scientists at the University of Glasgow (Scotland). Obesity in equines is not a new problem. However, the increasing number of obese horses and ponies, predominantly in the leisure industry, has now become a globally recognised welfare concern.

Ukrainian equestrians and more than 100,000 horses caught up in the war in Ukraine need help to survive under desperate conditions because of the tragic conflict. The horses have no ability to seek safety or flee without help. The need is urgent.

Establishes the Brooke USA Ukraine Emergency Fund - Brooke USA Foundation (Brooke USA) recently announced the establishment of its Ukraine Emergency Fund and asks its generous supporters to help equestrians and their horses as it joins the many organizations supporting relief efforts in that nation. Funds raised will be forwarded to the Ukrainian Equestrian Federation Charity Foundation (UEFCF, registered in Belgium) with assistance from the FEI (International Equestrian Federation) and USEF (United States Equestrian Federation) via the USEF Disaster Relief Fund.

More veterinary students from British Columbia will be attending the Western College of Veterinary Medicine (WCVM) on the University of Saskatchewan campus this August, following an investment from the Province of BC to double the number of subsidized seats for the first time in more than a decade.
