Entry Deadline June 15th

Alberta’s first-ever equestrian drill team competition will be held this July in Hardisty, Alberta.

The Joseph Rae Equestrian Academy at Hardisty is a boarding school for grades 7 to 12 with a fully integrated Western Horsemanship program, the only one of its kind in Canada. Students are able to train with Equine Canada coaches and professional trainers that are Canada’s top competitors in their respected fields. At the same time, students are able to meet and exceed the Alberta standards for education with a balanced program of study.

The Equestrian Drill Team is the pride and joy of the Academy. Academy students help in preparation and planning of the drill team performance, as well as ride on the team. Once trained, the Joseph Rae Equestrian Drill Team perform at events all over Alberta.

This summer the Joseph Rae Equestrian Academy will host Alberta’s first Western Canadian Premier Equestrian Drill Team Competition, and they’re inviting horse people to “Get your siblings, ask your cousins, pester your neighbours, tell your 4-H club – whatever it takes, get your team together and join us in Hardisty for a great weekend of fun and great prizes, with Alberta’s FIRST (as far as we know) Equestrian Drill Team Competition.”

The event will be held on the weekend of July 23-24, 2016, with practice on Saturday and the competition on Sunday. Guest judges will be coming from the USA.

Entry deadline is June 15, 2016.
