$44-million gift from Anderson-Chisholm family will transform veterinary education and research - Research at W.A. Ranches in southern Alberta will include the development of evidence-based educational and community programs that will improve animal care and welfare, enhance the livestock industry, and inform the public.

The Alberta government is investing in the University of Calgary Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (UCVM) to help meet the increasing demand for veterinarians across the province.

Meaford Fire Department Training Centre in Ontario is opening its doors once again for intensive training on what to do in emergency situations involving large animals. Learn alongside first responders the best practices for successful rescue in these stressful and potentially life-threatening situations. Registration is now open to all (must be at least 18 years of age) for the next offering of Equine Guelph’s Large Animal Rescue Awareness/Operational Training to be held October 12 (evening), 13 and 14, 2018.

The Erin Agricultural Society is pleased to announce the inaugural Erin Fair Heritage Horse Hall of Fame, presented by the Erin Fair Equine Tent Committee. The Erin Fair Horse Hall of Fame will recognize and celebrate people and horses in Erin who have made an outstanding contribution to our community. Each year, beginning in 2018, one horse, individual, or group will be honoured at a special ceremony in the Equine Tent at the Erin Fair.

Circle F Horse Rescue is a not-for-profit charitable organization based in Abbotsford, BC. The “F” in Circle F stands for “Freedom for all horses.” The founder of this registered charitable organization believed that all horses should be given the gift of freedom from neglect, freedom from abuse, and the freedom to have a good home.

This is a family-friendly show to be held at Amberlea Meadows Equestrian Centre in Leduc County, Alberta, with competitive and fun classes for all ages and skill levels. A variety of in-hand, riding, and driving classes are offered from Welsh breed, Sport Pony, and Model Hunter halter classes to English, Western, Hunter, Sidesaddle, and Gymkhana ridden classes, as well as Driving, Trail, Showmanship, and Costume.
