On January 25, 2017, shortly after 2 am, a barn fire destroyed a barn in Tiny Township, near Wyevale in Simcoe County, south-central Ontario. Sadly, four horses perished in the fire, as well as ducks, rabbits and other pets inside the barn. A boat, beekeeping equipment, and maple syrup equipment were also lost.

Two of the horses lost were named Bailey and Mouse, and the two others were Miniature horses Tori and Spencer. There were no injuries to the firefighters or to the Small family who lived at the site.

The century-old barn was quickly engulfed, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

A GoFundMe account has been set up by the community to assist the Small family in rebuilding.
