Ukrainian equestrians and more than 100,000 horses caught up in the war in Ukraine need help to survive under desperate conditions because of the tragic conflict. The horses have no ability to seek safety or flee without help. The need is urgent.

The Ukrainian Equestrian Federation Charity Foundation (UEFCF), registered in Belgium with the assistance of the Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI), is a non-profit organization established February 28, 2022. Its mission is “to help the Ukrainian equestrian community during the crisis,” with the priorities of opening a hotline for equestrians in Ukraine and people and organizations offering help to Ukrainians, and coordinating help and operations where needed.

The Foundation works closely with the FEI and national equestrian federations to monitor horse welfare and support the Ukrainian equestrian community by providing counselling and needs-based assistance on the ground. They work to find shelter options and relocate horses, and to gather feed and supplies, and organize their delivery wherever needed in Ukraine or in temporary locations in Europe.

The UEFCF website provides regular updates on their many activities and the ways donated funds are being used. Their work of providing feed and supplies and organizing delivery and distribution; evacuating horses from dangerous areas; and giving care and shelter to horses in need is only possible thanks to a multitude of volunteers and donations from around the world.

Please visit the UEFCF website to learn more about this important work and donate if you can. Even a small donation will make a difference. Their website and those of other organizations involved in these important efforts are below:
