Lyne Joly has been riding since she was eight years old, and competed all over North America. But after a fall from her horse in January of 2017, Joly lost the use of her legs and arms. Doctors told her she’d be in hospital for a year. 

She became completely dependent upon her boyfriend, Marc-André Thibodeau, with whose help she was out of hospital in four months and home with her dogs and horses. After working hard on rehabilitation, she has already regained some control over her arms and hands. 

Now she is riding again with the help of a special custom saddle and Cheval Quebec who have launched a crowdfunding campaign to help Joly follow her Paralympic dream.
