The following are NOT affected by the mail strike:
• Newsstand copies of Canadian Horse Journal's Special Annual Issue, the Canada's Equine Guide 2025 (CEG25) were shipped in mid-November and are on sale across Canada as of December 2 at all the usual outlets. In addition, thousands of copies of this special annual issue are on paid promotion (prominent display for four weeks) at Chapters/Indigo, London Drugs, SaveOn Foods, Shoppers Drug Mart, and a smaller chain called Hudson News (Ontario, Halifax, Edmonton). These newsstand copies shipped by truck directly to the newsstand warehouses and were NOT affected by the mail strike.
• Our distribution partners – tack and feed outlets nationwide – received several thousand copies of this issue for complimentary distribution. These were delivered via courier the week of Nov 18-22, are available at outlets now and were NOT affected by the mail strike. Learn More About Our Distributor Program.
• We have made the full CEG25 digital edition available on our website during the strike, where normally our website would offer the digital edition sample: Canada's Equine Guide 2025.
• All clients, and subscribers with an email on file (which is most), were sent the digital edition of CEGuide 2025 the week of Nov 18-22.
• Subscriber print copies are the only distribution held up by the Canada Post strike and will delivered when the strike ends.

Notice to our Valued Print Subscribers
Important update regarding your subscription
Dear Subscribers,
We understand how important receiving Canadian Horse Journal is to you, and we regret to inform you of a service disruption that will temporarily affect your print deliveries.
On November 15, 2024, the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) announced a strike involving approximately 55,000 members across its urban, rural, and suburban mail carrier bargaining units. Canada Post has stated that its operations are currently shut down, affecting mail and parcel delivery across the country. Unfortunately, this means that mail and parcels already in the system will face delays, and no new items are being accepted for processing. The company said in a statement today that the shutdown will affect millions of Canadians and businesses.
As of today, both parties are still at the negotiating table, and talks continue. Labour Minister Steven MacKinnon told reporters in Montreal this morning: “I’m not looking at any other solution other than negotiation right now.” Mark Lubinski, the Toronto local president of CUPW, said Canada Post workers know that they provide an essential service, and told CBC News: “We’re prepared to be out here as long as we need to be.”
The current issue of Canadian Horse Journal, our special Annual Canada's Equine Guide 2025, was sent to Canada Post for mailing before the strike began. However, Canada Post will not deliver it to you until their operations resume.
In light of these challenges, we want to assure you that we are doing everything we can to keep you connected with Canadian Horse Journal. During this postal service interruption, and to ensure your continued access, all print subscribers will receive a digital copy of our publication delivered directly to their email inbox within coming days. This will continue until regular mail service resumes. Once the strike has ended, we will ensure that all print issues delayed by the interruption are sent to you.
