Update - March 23, 2020 - "It is with enormous regret that the Spruce Meadows Management team, with full respect and compliance with the recent World Health Organization, Canadian Federal and Provincial government guidelines, has made the difficult, but prudent decision, effective March 23, 2020 to officially cancel the Spruce Meadows Summer Series, including the ‘National’ June 4-7, the ‘Continental’ June 11-14, the ‘Pan American’ June 25 – 28 and the ‘North American’ July 1 - 5. The health and well-being of our sponsors and their employees, our competitors, officials, volunteers, fans, the media, Spruce Meadows’ staff and the community at large is of paramount importance to us.

Original Release from March 13, 2020 – In its daily situation review, the Spruce Meadows Organizing Committee and the Spruce Meadows Crisis Management Committee have arrived at the decision to cancel the remainder of the Winter Farewell tournament’s weekend competitions, currently scheduled for March 14 - 15, 2020.

With full respect for recent Alberta Health recommendations relating to COVID-19 protocols and threats, and determining that an abundance of caution is the proper way to proceed, the Winter Farewell event will conclude this afternoon. The 2020 Spruce Meadows Spring Welcome Tournament scheduled for March 19 - 22, 2020 has also been cancelled.

For competitors whom this directly affects, please contact the Spruce Meadows Tournament Office for additional information.
