Judge Hands Down Longest Animal Cruelty Sentence Ever in BC

It often seems like sentences for animal cruelty are never enough, which is why this ruling on a breeder from Armstrong, BC is a welcome result. “I believe that it sends a clear message that the courts and society will not tolerate animal cruelty,” says Kathy Woodward with the BC SPCA.

Three of the 16 horses seized in December 2016 were in such bad shape they had to be put down. The other horses are currently being rehabilitated and put into new homes.
