The equestrian community in Canada and abroad offers condolences to the family and friends of Wyndham St John, who passed away on March 6 at the age of 63 in Cadiz, Spain. Born in Vancouver, BC, and residing in the United Kingdom, St John was an accomplished Canadian equestrian throughout her life.

Ottawa, ON, March 11, 2023 — In recognition of the RCMP’s 150th anniversary and the upcoming coronation of His Majesty King Charles III in May, the RCMP is pleased to announce that RCMP Musical Ride horse Noble will be presented to His Majesty King Charles III. Details about the ceremony will be released at a later date.

In a private ceremony, held at the McDougall Centre in Calgary, Alberta, on February 23, 2023, Spruce Meadows co-founder Margaret Southern CC, LVO, AOE, B.Ed., LLD. was presented the Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee Medal by the Lieutenant Governor of Alberta, Her Honour, the Honourable Salma Lakhani AOE, B.Sc., LLD (hon). This commemorative medal was created to mark the 70th anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s accession to the Throne as Queen of Canada.

February 2, 2023 – With the Pan American Games on the horizon in October 2023 and the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games only 18 months away, the High Performance Advisory Group - Jumping (HPAG) and Equine Canada (EC) are pleased to announce Ian Millar, CM as the new Technical Advisor (TA), Jumping for Canada’s national show jumping team. 

Operating a therapeutic riding program involves many different skills which, when blended, create excellent programs. Each CanTRA Centre around the country has the opportunity to submit their candidates for the Annual CanTRA Awards at the beginning of each year. The goal of this program is to recognize the people and horses who work together to provide riding for those with special needs.
