Island Horse Council Welcomes Three New Member Clubs
Island Horse Council is happy to announce the addition of the following clubs to its ranks:
Jump PEI
The club’s goal is to promote riding and jumping as a sport and recreation, and to promote camaraderie and good sportsmanship among riders, all while maintaining good horsemanship practices.
The group has already held a well-attended jumping clinic May 14 and 15 with Kevin Crosby from Falmouth, Nova Scotia.

PEI Penning Club
The club has organized four penning dates for the summer with three divisions to accommodate varying skill levels: Open, a Seven division, and Sportsmanship. There is also a points accumulation system for year-end awards. The club works with Red Dirt Cattle Penning so that some of its shows serve as qualifying competitions for Old Home Week. This year, amateur and open will be qualifying divisions.

Emerald Island Hunt
The goals of the club are to ride to hounds to expose members to the thrill and enjoyment of live and drag hunting on the Island. The club will also provide riding activities that simulate or substitute riding to hounds in order to reinforce the camaraderie and fun of riding horses as part of this club. Social activities will promote the sport of riding to hounds and raise funds to provide interesting activities for our members.
