Horse Community Journals Inc. is pleased to announce the Readers’ Choice Awards in the Equine Consumers’ Guide 2010. Developed to celebrate the best in Canada’s equine industry, the Readers’ Choice Awards give Canadian horse people the opportunity to nominate the horse, horse person, or business that they feel deserves recognition for their achievement or contribution to the Canadian horse industry.
Cast your vote in the following eight categories:
EQUINE SHINING STAR – Nominate the Canadian-born and raised horse of any breed or discipline that deserves recognition for achievement in sport, recreation, work, breeding, or therapeutic endeavours.
EXCEPTIONAL EQUESTRIAN – Nominate the horse person who has made an exceptional contribution to Canada’s horse community, in any activity, breed or discipline.
UNSUNG HERO (VOLUNTEER) – Nominate the individual who deserves recognition for
demonstrating outstanding dedication and service to the horse community in a volunteer capacity.
CLUB BEYOND COMPARE – Nominate the non-profit club or association in your horse community that does an exemplary job of serving and promoting the interests of area horse people.
MOST MEMORABLE – Nominate the “Hometown Hero” horse or person from your area or province who has made a significant contribution to any aspect of Canada’s horse industry.
HORSE-OF-MY-HEART – Nominate that extra-special equine who has earned a place in your heart forever.
RED RIBBON BUSINESS AWARD – Nominate the Canadian horse business that delivers outstanding products, service, value, and customer support.
THE GREEN HORSE AWARD – Nominate the Canadian horse business that outperforms in promoting and advancing environmental sustainability in products and services for Canada’s horse community.
Two award winners will be selected in each category, and each will receive one of 16 prizes from ARISTA Equestrian, makers of high quality, fashion-forward equestrian apparel for in and out of the show ring.
In addition, anyone who nominates in two or more Readers’ Choice Award categories and answers at least one Bonus Question will be entered into a draw to win one of 24 gift subscriptions to either Canadian Horse Journal or Pacific & Prairie Horse Journal, for you or a friend.

Winners of the Readers’ Choice Awards will be announced in the Equine Consumers’ Guide 2010. Going national for the first time this year, the ECG is “Canada’s Horse Industry at Your Fingertips,” featuring thousands of products, services, and stallions, as well as hands-on, practical information to help consumers make informed purchasing decisions in today’s economy. The Equine Consumers’ Guide 2010 will be delivered across Canada to subscribers of Pacific & Prairie Horse Journal and Canadian Horse Journal, plus horse industry professionals. The ECG will also be distributed at newsstands coast to coast, at trade shows and at major industry events, for a total audience of 96,000+ — the LARGEST equine directory readership in Canada.
