Lee Kellogg Sadrian and Sterling Ride to Top Honors in Amateur-Owner 3'3" Hunters at 2010 FTI Winter Equestrian Festival

Amateur-Owner Hunter action continued today on this beautiful Friday morning at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center, home of the 2010 FTI Winter Equestrian Festival. Lee Kellogg Sadrian rode her own Sterling to the top honors today in the Amateur-Owner 3’3" Hunters.

Lee Kellogg Sadrian commutes from New York City and trains with Rolf and Jennifer Bauersachs of Spring Hill Farm.  In addition to showing Sterling in the Amateur-Owner Hunters, she competes her other horse as well.
Kellogg and her partner, Sterling, dominated their division this weekend, winning the first two classes yesterday and winning the first class of the day today. She was very proud of her eleven-year-old Oldenburg gelding.  She noted, "My trainer (Rolf) imported the horse from Germany, and I have had him for three years." She continued, "I have had two kids in the middle of that, so I have not been riding consistently." In fact, this was Kellogg’s first time showing the horse in a year.

As for upcoming plans, expect to see the duo moving up a division to the 3’6" very soon. However, for now the main goal Kellogg says is "just to have fun and enjoy my horse."

The Reserve Champion of the division went to Leah Schwendeman on her mount Gisele. Tomorrow’s action continues with more amateur-owner hunter competition at the 2010 FTI Winter Equestrian Festival.
