2010 HORSE BREEDERS AND OWNERS CONFERENCE

By Teresa van Bryce

In January each year, the horse industry gathers in Red Deer, Alberta to take in the Horse Breeders and Owners Conference, presented by the Horse Industry Association of Alberta. The 28th annual “mid-winter horseman’s escape” will be held January 15 to 17, 2010, and features what the conference has become known for: world class speakers, a wide range of topics, an equine trade show with over 50 sponsoring businesses and organizations, and numerous opportunities for socializing and networking.

The pre-conference Stable Owners Seminar provides a complimentary afternoon of education directed at the stable industry.

The conference officially opens Friday evening with the popular Open Barn reception, where delegates have the opportunity to catch up with old friends, make some new ones, and explore the exhibit booths.
The heart of the conference has always been its strong educational program and 2010 will be no exception. The first session begins Saturday morning and the last wraps up on Sunday afternoon. This year’s lineup has something for everyone, no matter what level or type of participation in the world of horses.
