MENTION
Ode to Denny

Half a life time friend,
What a ride it’s been.
Lots of ups and downs,
Him up and me on the ground.
I bought Denny for my 7-year-old daughter,
After a little handling I found him to be a rotter.
I worked with him night and day,
Not making much headway,
We joined a horse club and had lots of fun at the playday.
He liked the trail rides, and the games were ok.
Then I showed Denny a cow and made his day.
My friends helped me lots and we were on our way.
He was the best healing horse you could ever ask for,
Load up the chutes and let’s chase more.
In the beginning things were not great,
In the end he was my soul mate.
We spent 30 years together, some bad times,
But lots of good times.
He will always be in our hearts and minds,
In the end we were the best of friends.
We lost Denny in 2007,
We hope the grass is stirrup high in heaven.
